SUN GEN srl, received a prestigious SME grant within the framework of Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, in which the European Commission hand-picks businesses to invest in and support.
FOCALSTREAM project was awarded EUR 1.1 million, to develop a technology which will revolutionise the energy generation sector: a breakthrough high performance cost competitive solar concentration system for combined heat and power generation.
FOCALSTREAM is an innovative CHP cogenerator based on HCPV technology gathering the lightest mirror and most compact system on the market for thermal and electric production in a single device. The improvements versus two separate plants built with solar PV and solar thermal panels are staggering: 50% weight reduction, 70% space reduction, up to 30% reduction in cost.
FOCALSTREAM convert in a useful form up to 80% of the incoming solar energy and is the more environmentally friendly energy generation technology on the market.
The consortium is led by SUN GEN srl as Project Coordinator and it’s formed by GEETIT (IT) and ELECTRICIDAD JACA (ES), who have united to improve and industrialize this novel product.
